Our Geotechnical Practice is currently seeking a Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical, Dams & Hydraulics Team!

 

As an option, in place of residing and working near a specific Gannett Fleming office location, work-from-home will be considered on a case-by-case basis for those candidates that exhibit prior work experience and an ability to work independently with team interaction through a remote work environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as project manager or lead geotechnical engineer for multidiscipline or geotechnical-focused projects including, but not limited to embankment or gravity dams, transportation projects, shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, slope stabilization and seepage remediation.
  • Plan and guide the execution of subsurface explorations and laboratory testing programs.
  • Prepare written reports and documentation, geotechnical correspondence, design and construction drawings and specifications.
  • Provide construction observation support during the construction phase of various projects.
  • Assist in preparation of technical and cost proposals.

Minimum Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required; Master’s Degree with a Geotechnical focus preferred. 
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • 5-10+ years of geotechnical experience with an emphasis in design and development of geotechnical deliverables including investigations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required; Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.
  • Experience with common geotechnical software programs such as STABL, SLIDE, Slope/w, LPILE, APILE, GROUP, GRLWEAP, and gINT is preferred.
  • Field experience with construction observation for dam projects, highway projects and landslide remediation projects is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
