As Gannett Fleming continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a highly motivated  Engineering Intern with a focus on Transportation Highway and Water to join our team in the Owings Mills, MD office. Candidates must possess a “can do” attitude, a willingness to learn, and strong team building skills.

During your internship, you will be working with a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of transportation projects including major roadway and interchange projects, bridge replacement projects, and roadway maintenance projects.

 

Working closely with supervisors and mentors, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations
  • Design roadway alignments, drainage, erosion control and traffic control
  • Write technical reports
  • Develop construction plan drawings using Microstation/Openroads design software
  • Develop construction cost estimates

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program; working towards bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • A focus or coursework related to transportation and water
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Strong verbal and oral communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using CADD/Design software (Microstation/Openroads) 

  • Prior roadway engineering related internship or similar experience
  • Involvement with professional associations, on-campus groups, and/or community service initiatives
