Our Pittsburgh team is currently looking for a Construction Manager to join our growing team! With minimal supervision, provides construction management services for a wide variety of projects that may include water and wastewater facilities, transportation and transit facilities, and general building projects. Performs routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the understanding of standard construction documents, procedures, and criteria.

 

Principal Responsibilities and essential functions

  • Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
  • Prepares and monitors project schedules.
  • Performs periodic construction observation and inspection.
  • Possesses basic surveying interpretation skills.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence.
  • Prepares and checks quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Prepares construction payment applications.
  • Negotiates and prepares construction change orders.
  • Reviews submittals and other technical data.
  • Proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling.
  • Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Assists with Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.

Education and Licensing requirements

  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
  • PE preferred (after 5 years of experience)

 

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or experience 

  • 7-10 years’ experience
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred
  • 10-hour OSHA Safety course
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

 

Additional Notes

Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Mix of field and office work environments. May be required to work in confined spaces. Travel to work sites for an extended period of time may be required. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to independently travel and be physically present in the office or at a client site.
