During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees. 

 

What You'll Be Working On

  • Support real client projects by performing analysis work the design of new dams, dam rehabilitation, flood control projects and hydraulic structures using computer software and hand calculations.
  • Learn and apply the technical requirements and design criteria for design projects.
  • Participate in technical meetings and discussions.
  • Assist field reviews of project sites to assess existing conditions.
  • Help prepare technical reports and present findings to clients.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil Engineering program with an focus on dams and hydraulics and/or water resources.
  • Demonstrated interest in dams & hydraulics through previous internship experiences or applied academic coursework.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong data analysis, written, and problem-solving skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GIS applications, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and SITES.
