Gannett Fleming is seeking a Highway Construction - Project Executive who will be responsible for the overall operations as well as business development functions and strategies within the Construction Services Corporate Business Group and specifically associated with Construction Management / Construction Inspection services for Infrastructure projects (i.e., roadways, bridges, utilities, etc.).
The successful candidate, as part of the overall NY Construction Management Group will be responsible for the short and long term profitability of this group. This individual will also be responsible for planning, directing and supervising all post-design and construction phase tasks/activities included within project scope and budget for NYSDOT, NYCDOT and other local community DPWs’ Infrastructure projects.
What You Will Do
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
New York PE License Required.
Must have 15 years progressive experience as a Resident Engineer in construction management and inspection of government-owned infrastructure, with a successful track record of managing projects that involve civil construction.
Demonstrated strengths in the areas of project and operations management for large scale, multi-disciplined construction management / construction inspection projects.
Business development and client relationship oriented with existing industry network that could be leveraged to expand existing client base.
Previous experience managing projects for NYSDOT, NYCDOT and/or other local community DPWs.
Developed awareness and knowledge of the construction management and inspection community.
Proficient in planning, assigning, directing, coordinating and reviewing the work of professional and technical employees; managing resources – financial, personnel, and equipment – to achieve goals.
Thorough knowledge of design and plan preparation methods and requirements; applicable testing methods, processes and procedures; cost estimating; scheduling; environmental regulations pertaining to state and federal construction standards; and hazardous material regulations for recognition, permitting and disposal.
Skilled in public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with all project stakeholders.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
