Gannett Fleming is seeking a Stormwater Project Engineer offering strong technical expertise to join our Water, Energy, and Environmental practice in Houston, TX or Fort Worth, TX. 

 

*** Relocation support is offered for this role ***

 

The stormwater professional will be involved in engineering calculations, technical studies and prepare plans and specifications for a wide variety of projects, including: stormwater management facilities, culverts and outfalls, open channels, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, floodplain studies, inundation mapping. You will also prepare reports (including CLOMRs & LOMRs) and letters.

 

Responsibilities

  • Determine client requirements and develops designs and contract documents.
  • Works with client and other disciplines to prepare appropriate designs, as dictated by the scope of work.
  • Perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations and modeling involved in the evaluation of watershed drainage studies, master plans and land development projects.
  • Ensure that production of analysis, drawings and specifications meets the scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and satisfies all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Provide direction to and supervision for junior level engineers as needed.
  • Communicate independently with clients.
  • Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams and lead tasks and simple project teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • 4 - 8 years of applicable experience designing, analysing or modeling stormwater facilities.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification required, PE preferred.
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS.
  • Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Expertise with design software and GIS.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with management of small work groups and project tasks.
