Our Owings Mills, MD office is currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Transportation Planner to join our team! The ideal candidate will lead a variety of transportation planning activities for a wide range of projects, including multimodal (highway, transit, bicycle/pedestrian, and advanced mobility) projects. Develops approaches to perform routine and complex assignments that leverage contemporary planning techniques. Assignments may involve development of planning guidelines and policies that clients use to transform their communities

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares basic and complex planning studies involving a variety of multimodal systems.
  • Gathers and records information to be used in transportation planning studies.
  • Prepare and oversee development of studies and technical reports related to long range transportation planning, climate and resiliency assessments, , benefit cost analysis, and economic development.
  • Prepare and oversee development of transportation purpose and need assessments, multi-modal evaluations, logical termini/independent utility analyses, engineering feasibility and transportation planning studies, development and analysis of alternatives, and transportation visioning. Works as part of a project team within the transportation planning discipline including coordination with other business lines.
  • Meet with clients to collect information, share progress, and present results.
  • Limited professional society engagement.

  • BA or BS in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE), American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), or Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) certification preferred
  • 6 + years of applicable experience
  • Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and/or GIS preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook, Project)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
