Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety (RAMS) Lead to join our Systems Engineering Group. This role follows a remote work model.

 

What you'll be challenged to do:

 

As a RAMS Lead, you will strategically advance the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety standards of our projects, encompassing commuter, light, and heavy rail transit systems. You will have the unique opportunity to expand your career by tackling complex challenges, driving process enhancements, and engaging in cross-functional collaborations. Prepare for a future leadership role by enhancing your skills in managing and executing RAMS plans and interacting with stakeholders in a multi-discipline environment.

 

In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Define corporate RAMS plans at the project or agency level.
  • Interface adeptly with clients to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Execute and manage teams responsible for delivering RAMS plans for both green-field and brown-field developments, showcasing leadership skills.
  • Establish processes related to RAMS using industry best practices and oversee their implementation.
  • Specify RAMS metrics, key performance indicators, and RAMS targets for electronic, electro-mechanical, and train-based systems.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert and trusted advisor in all RAMS matters for Gannett Fleming’s clients.
  • Perform System Hazard Analysis, Operating and Support Hazard Analysis, and Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis on diverse systems.
  • Support and drive the continuous development of RAMS activities for ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate on technical consultancy for RAMS integration, validation & verification, and other related system engineering activities.
  • Apply best practice systems engineering techniques to support the pursuit of work in the region.
  • Extract technical and functional requirements from tender documents to create comprehensive RAMS requirements.
  • Adhere to company safety, quality, environmental, commercial, and project management procedures relevant to undertaken tasks.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff to help them reach their full potential in alignment with Gannett Fleming's needs.

What you will bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Professional Engineer Designation in Ontario or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with the CENELEC EN 50126 family of standards.
  • 25+ years of experience applying RAMS techniques to rail projects.

  • Experience as a team leader, guiding junior and intermediate specialists through all RAMS activities.
  • Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills in a project environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, showcasing strong team player traits.

Compensation:


The range for this position is salary dependent upon experience and geographic location.
