Gannett Fleming TranSystems is looking for a Senior Architectural Technologist to join their team in Toronto, Ontario. 

We focus on rail and transit facility design, with work on a wide variety of public and private sector projects as well. 

This opportunity will encompass working alongside senior leadership, management of production and technical drawings.

This position does not limit you to one project phase: from design to development and from construction documentation to contract administration.

 

Fulltime/Permanent position within Gannett Fleming TranSystems

  • Lead the production of construction documentation for various building types from conception to completion
  • Working on multiple projects with internal team members and consultants from design development to construction completion.
  • Coordination with consultants
  • Identifying and solving technical problems as they arise. 
  • Advise on materials, technology, and processes involved in building design, applying a thorough understanding of building science methodologies.
  • Prepare documents for planning permission and other approvals
  • Assist with construction administration activities, including shop drawing review, specifications, and site instructions
  • Stay up-to-date with legislation, standards, and technological innovations in the field
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Diploma from an accredited Architectural Technologist Program or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of direct experience in a Senior Architectural Technologist role, in the production of architectural drawings from Schematic Design through to Construction Administration
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of building science, detailing, the Ontario Building Code and other applicable laws
  • Excellent level of skill with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
