During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees. 

 

What You Will Do

  • Learn and assist with the design and drafting of electrical and communication systems for transit projects using AutoCAD.
  • Support the development of systems including networking, SCADA, RF, CCTV, Telephony, and PA/VMS.
  • Help integrate electrical systems and communication networks, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in site assessments and troubleshooting to support ongoing design and construction efforts.

  • Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering bachelor’s program.
  • Demonstrated interest in electrical and communication systems (Ethernet, Fiber Optic, Layer 1 and 2) through prior internship or applied coursework experience.
  • Familiar with drafting tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit.
  • Proficient in data analysis with strong problem-solving skills, a self-motivated and proactive approach to learning, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest or experience with electrical codes, communication systems, and Class 2 wiring.
  • Familiarity or interest in RF design, WLAN, WiFi, or Voice Radio.
  • Interest in railway system design and operations.
