Gannett Fleming Transystems is currently seeking a Senior Civil/Highway Engineer to join our Eastern PA highway team. This hybrid position will be based out of either Valley Forge Office (Audubon, PA), Philadelphia Office or Lehigh Valley Office (Fogelsville, PA).  This is an exciting time to join the GF team!

 

The successful candidate will be focused on project delivery and be proficient with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation design and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission policies, standards, and specifications. The candidate will serve as a highway engineer for highway and/or municipal projects. The candidate will work with team members to deliver quality design work, on time and build client relationships through project delivery.

 

This position requires effective time management, technical and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be articulate with a professional presence and solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills. A general understanding of how to manage/monitor scopes, schedules and budgets on projects is desirable.

 

The Work You’ll Do  

  • Perform engineering design tasks for highway and/or municipal projects from preliminary to final design
  • Develop construction contract documents including plans, specifications, cost estimates and review construction documents such as shop and working drawings.
  • Establish working relationships and contacts with client technical staff and project managers especially in PennDOT, local governments, and private clients
  • Collaborate with civil/highway/environmental staff to develop projects including but not limited to roadway, bridge, stormwater management, traffic, signing, and pavement.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic design, utilities, permitting, and preliminary design for environmental documents desirable, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team to complete tasks within scope, schedule and budget.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent is required
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License registered in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain within 1 year is required
  • 5-15 years’ progressive engineering experience in highway and/or civil/site design is preferred.
  • Prior experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike projects preferred including being well versed in client design policies, standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads or OpenRoads design software is desirable.
  • Stormwater Management/NPDES Permitting experience desirable, but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to grow while working in a team environment, demonstrated organizational skills, self-motivated, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Core Business Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary Range: $105,000 - $150,000
Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location
