Gannett Fleming TranSystems is seeking a Sr. Project Architect  to join our Architectural practice in New York City, NY!  This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our New York City, NY office.

What You Will Do:

This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Project Architect  that thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project. Our New York City, NY office is currently seeking a Senior Project Architect to join the Architectural Practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a wide variety of public and private sector projects, including but not limited to rail & transit, infrastructure projects, K-12,  and public work projects.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Lead a project team in the development of the technical design and the preparation of architectural design and construction documents including drawings and specifications.
  • Communicate with consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure coordination of project requirements and collaborate as necessary.
  • Develop, check and coordinate technical aspects of the design of a project.
  • Prepares architectural working drawings and related project documents
  •  Prepare project specifications. 
  • Production of commercial and government construction documents while working in a project team
  • Keep Project Manager and Principals informed of progress, issues and/or need for assistance.
  • Follow established standards for project production and review.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Develop presentations, designs and technical solutions through all phases of a project.
  • Produce conceptual renderings for project and presentation purposes

What you will bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required,
  • New York registered Architect or ability to become registered. 
  • Ten or more experience in an architecture design role for various structures to including but not limited to: institutional, commercial, industrial, governement (Federal, State and Local)
  • Working knowledge of current International Building Codes, NFPA, ADA, LEED, and knowledge of related standards such as ANSI, ASTM, ASHRAE etc.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite
  • Experience with 3D Modeling software such as Sketch Up Pro, Rhino/3D Max or similar is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project or Primavera scheduling software desired
  • Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists. 

What we prefer you bring:

  • Masters in Architecture is preferred
  • Highly proficient in REVIT Building Information Modeling Architecture with experience in both design and construction documentation is required 

Compensation:

The range for this position is salary range is $124,000 - $139,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
