GFT is seeking a Project Manager, Wet Utilities to join Transportation Practice in Toronto! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto office.

What you'll be challenged to do:

As a Project Manager, Wet Utilities, you will have the opportunity to expand your career by taking on new challenges and managing provincial, municipal, transit, and aviation projects. Your role will involve leading small projects, enhancing processes, and collaborating with peers, stakeholders, and senior-level professionals to ensure seamless project execution and prepare for future leadership positions.

 

In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare project management plans and manage scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with all discipline leads, department heads, other project managers, project controls staff, and construction personnel to foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ensure a high level of technical quality on the projects through complex problem-solving and innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and provide leadership training to project staff to support their professional growth and skill advancement.

 

What you will bring to our firm:

• 8 years of experience.
• P.Eng. designation required.
• A university degree in civil engineering or related degree.
• Familiarity with roadway design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, ORD).
• Technical excellence in civil & highway design.
• Familiarity with contract documents. 
• Demonstrated experience in successful project execution. 
• A thorough understanding of the requirements and complexities of the design and management of multi-disciplinary projects, such as utility coordination, construction staging, traffic management, public consultation, external agency approvals, communication and liaison, coordination of sub-consultants and design groups, schedule and budget control, quality control and construction administration

 

What we prefer you bring:

• Experience in delivery of Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) projects is an asset.
• Experience in BRT, LRT including intermodal transit facilities is an asset.
• Familiarity and experience with various delivery models and P3 projects is an asset.
 

Compensation:

The range for this position is salary dependent upon experience and geographic location.
