GFT is seeking an Airport Commissioning Agent to join our Construction Services Group in Miami, FL! This role requires someone to be onsite at Miami International Airport 5 days per week.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Commissioning Agent who thrives in a collaborative team environment. A Commissioning Agent (CxA) plays a vital role in airport construction by ensuring that systems and components function optimally according to the design specifications and owner's project requirements (OPR). They act as an independent third party, managing the commissioning process and collaborating with various stakeholders.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• As a commissioning agent, your job duties involve overseeing the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of all components, materials, and systems.
• Coordinate, perform and oversee detailed field commissioning services, assessments, and studies for all types of facilities/systems including the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Control Panels, Fire Systems, Security Systems, Baggage Handling, and Information Displays.
• Generate commissioning plans; write commissioning specifications; develop commissioning installation checklists and functional test procedures; verify and validate commissioned systems controls and equipment; document commissioning process, develop final commissioning report, and develop systems manuals.
CxAs are ideally involved early in the design phase to help identify potential challenges and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
They verify that systems are installed, tested, and maintained according to the design and operational requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
CxAs facilitate collaboration between the building owner, design team, contractors, and facility operators.
They identify potential problems and develop solutions to ensure the project meets its goals.
CxAs conduct a comprehensive analysis of the project, including management, verification, scheduling, and testing.
They monitor the performance of the systems after they are operational to ensure they continue to meet the owner's needs.
In the context of airport construction, this includes commissioning systems like:
- HVAC: Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
- Electrical: Power distribution and lighting.
- Plumbing: Water and sanitation systems.
- Specialized Systems: Such as flight information displays, security systems, and baggage handling systems.
