GFT is seeking an Electrical Inspector to join our Construction Services team in New Rochelle, NY.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As an Electrical Inspector, you will support the construction management team by performing field observations to monitor quality and safety. You will work closely with the CM staff on issues that affect safety, quality, and operations. Your role will involve spot checks on work crews to confirm all required documentation is current and available onsite, including SSSWP, JSA, CWP, QWP, and project plans and specifications. You will document observations for reporting but will not be responsible for direct inspection of the work performed or for verifying quantities. Depending on project complexity, you may be assigned to one or multiple sites in a single shift.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform field observations focused on safety, quality, and procedural compliance
  • Spot check work crews to confirm up-to-date documentation
  • Report findings to the construction management team
  • Support a range of electrical infrastructure projects including OCS and substations
  • May cover one or several sites during the same shift depending on the complexity of the activities involved. 

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in large-scale construction
  • At least 2 years of experience on rail-related or similar infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with AC power and catenary railroad systems
  • Experience with AC or DC substation power systems, depending on the assignment
  • Knowledge of substation construction practices

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $135,000.00 - $155,000.00, based on experience and geographic location.
