GFT is seeking an Inspector to join our Construction Services team in New Rochelle, NY.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As an Inspector, you’ll serve as an extension of the construction management team, performing essential field observations to monitor safety, quality, and operational impacts. You’ll communicate directly with the CM staff to confirm project activities meet standards and are documented properly. This role involves observing work on site, ensuring all necessary documentation is current, and relaying findings to the CM team.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct spot checks and field observations to monitor worksite quality and safety
  • Communicate findings and observations to the construction management team
  • Confirm that required documentation (e.g., SSSWP, JSA, CWP, QWP, Plans, Specifications) is present and current
  • Record and report field data for CM and the client
  • Ensure compliance without directly performing inspections or verifying quantities
  • May cover one or several sites during the same shift depending on the complexity of the activities involved. 

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • 0-1 years of experience in large-scale construction projects
  • Interest in working on transit or railroad inspection projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • OSHA Safety Training
  • Good communication skills

What we prefer you bring: 

  • Amtrak or other Rail client experience preferred 

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00, based on experience and geographic location.
