At GFT, we’re redefining what it means to build a career in the AEC industry. Guided by our mission to be the most people-centric AEC firm in North America, we foster a workplace where your contributions matter, your potential is nurtured, and your voice helps shape the future.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As a proactive, strategic and people-focused Talent Acquisition Specialist you will play a vital role in attracting and hiring mission-aligned professionals who are driven to build resilient, equitable, and sustainable infrastructure.

This role is ideal for someone who combines thoughtful relationship-building with a sharp eye for top AEC talent—and thrives in a purpose-driven culture.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead end-to-end recruiting efforts across a range of engineering, architechture and corporate roles in the AEC space—from intake through offer and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand business needs, project priorities, and team culture, while advising on talent strategy and market dynamics.
  • Design and execute targeted sourcing campaigns, including Boolean search techniques and proactive outreach to passive candidates via platforms like LinkedIn, industry databases, and CRM tools.
  • Cold-call and directly engage passive candidates to promote GFT’s mission, roles, and culture in a compelling and personalized way.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and engagement at every step.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for GFT, communicating our mission, vision, and values to prospective talent.
  • Maintain thorough and organized records in our Applicant Tracking System (iCIMS) and contribute to data-driven hiring decisions.
  • Stay informed about emerging AEC labor trends, and adjust recruitment approaches accordingly.

What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of full-cycle recruitment experience, with at least 4 years in the AEC industry (architecture, engineering, or construction).
  • Strong record of sourcing and hiring for roles across engineering disciplines including transportation, water, environmental, or federal markets.
  • Direct corporate recruiting experience as a contractor or in-house
  • Proficiency in Boolean search techniques and demonstrated experience in cold-calling passive candidates to generate interest and engagement.
  • Confident communicator with a consultative, proactive, strategic mindset and the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Skilled in iCIMS ATS, Microsoft Office, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other recruitment platforms.
  • Adept at managing confidential information, prioritizing competing tasks, and pivoting as business needs evolve.
  • Track record of successfully negotiating offers.
  • Team player mentality willing to support colleagues during peak recruiting cycles.
What we prefer you bring:
  • Experience recruiting across geographically distributed teams is a plus.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
