GFT is seeking a NEPA/PD&E Manager and Project Manager  to join our Practice or CBG Team in Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, or Orlando FL! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our any of our Flordia offices.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
Provide specialized expertise and manage projects in the areas of transportation planning, NEPA/PD&E/environmental planning and documentation, community planning, and/or associated specialties. The ideal candidate will be located in the State of Florida and will have experience working on NEPA/PD&E projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as a Project Manager or similar role.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of project team members.
  • Manages and administers project budgets, schedules and task requirements.
  • Strong leadership ability, experience, and demonstrated technical excellence in NEPA/PD&E services. Preference will be given to experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), or similar.
  • Proven ability to independently market the firm's services to existing and new clients.
  • Project management and marketing/business development experience is preferred.
  • Consults with superiors on problems and other related project issues.
  • Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, land planning, and development specialists to devise and recommend arrangements of land and physical facilities for residential, commercial, industrial, and community uses.
  • Participates on interdisciplinary teams, providing knowledge in specific planning areas.
  • Participates in the development of scopes of services, budget, and schedule requirements for planning related projects.
  • Organizes, attends, and leads client and public meetings and interviews.
  • Prepares reports, proposals, graphics, and presentation materials.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities - May have supervisory responsibilities if functioning as a Group or Team Leader.

  • Registration as an AICP or PE is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • At least 10 years of similar experience is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical information, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the community.
  • Ability to prepare and present speeches and articles for publication.
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • General ability to solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
 
What we prefer you bring: 
  • A Masters degree is desired but not required.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or Professional Engineer (PE) license or certification is required.
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $93,000-$140,000 Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
