GFT is seeking a Project Coordinator/Project Controls Administrator  to join our Transit & Rail team in Toronto, ON! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto office.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As a Project Coordinator, you will need to have dynamic communication skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively. You must be able to organize projects and materials, in addition to having strong business, computer and writing skills. In this position, you will assist our project managers with the execution of tasks related to projects and daily contract administration and project controls functions.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Provide project management assistance and project controls support throughout the life-cycle of a project from proposal through to project closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with project management standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Facilitate communication across teams and external stakeholders.
  • Interface with corporate project accounting to open and close projects.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the project budget structure.
  • Support project managers in preparing work plans
  • Track project budgets, costs, and forecasts, and identify variances.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and KPIs for internal and client reporting.
  • Support earned value analysis, risk management, and performance tracking.
  •  
  • Review contract requirements for contract fee types, invoicing procedures, insurance requirements, customer survey submission, and subcontractor information.
  • Review subconsultant and subcontractor contracts and coordinate contract reviews with Project Managers and Corporate Leg
  • Support project managers in management of the change process

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • BS degree required
  • 8+ years’ experience as a Project Administrator, Project Management Assistant, or Project Coordinator required
  • Experience with project KPIs and financials required
  • Advanced level skills in Excel required
  • Strong financial/general accounting experience, business math experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
 
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Experience working in a similar capacity within the AEC industry highly preferred
  • Intermediate skills in Power BI- interactive data visualization software, or similar preferred
  • PMP certification a plus
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $92,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
