As a Project Engineer specializing in wet utilities (sewers and watermains) with coordination experience in dry utilities (hydro, gas, telecom), you’ll play a pivotal role in the design, execution, and success of complex infrastructure projects.

In this dynamic role, you’ll be empowered to:
Lead utility relocation and installation design activities, particularly for wet utilities.
Coordinate utility impacts with hydro (transmission and distribution), telecom, and gas systems.
Prepare detailed and preliminary designs for sewers and watermains, including engineering calculations.
Collaborate across internal disciplines and external stakeholders to create integrated design solutions.
Ensure full compliance with project agreements, third-party utility and municipal standards, and applicable construction specifications.
Deliver accurate and timely submittals while balancing competing project priorities.
Conduct site inspections and generate detailed field reports to inform project decisions.
Recommend enhancements to existing utility infrastructure based on engineering evaluation.
Facilitate coordination with contractors to ensure efficient and cost-effective construction.
Participate in design and constructability workshops, bringing real-world insights to project planning.
Contribute to permitting processes, proposal development, and other project support tasks.
2- 7 years applicable experience and a strong background in the design of wet utility systems including watermain and sewer infrastructure.
Experience managing or supporting utility relocations in transportation and infrastructure settings.
Proficiency in interpreting and applying municipal design standards, utility specifications, and construction practices.
Strong communication skills for working with clients, contractors, and third-party utility providers.
A proven track record of delivering high-quality engineering deliverables under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with site inspection protocols and reporting.
Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng) in Ontario or eligibility for licensing.
Experience supporting Metrolinx, TTC, MTO, or other agency-led infrastructure programs.
Knowledge of local permitting and approval processes for utility infrastructure.
Enthusiasm for continuous learning and a mindset for solving engineering challenges creatively.
Experience contributing to proposal writing or pursuit strategies in the infrastructure sector.
