GFT is seeking a talented individual for the position of Project Scheduler to provide scheduling services for transit projects in Washington, DC or Alexandria, Virginia. This will be a hybrid position (must be able to work a minimum of 3 days per week at Client’s Office/Sites located in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area (DMV).

What you will be challenged to do:
The Project Scheduler will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing contractor’s schedule, progress and productivity of contractors, monitor and verify monthly costs and earned value, conduct change order management and control.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Develop, manage, update, and monitor individual project schedules and integrated overall master program schedule.
  • Monitor monthly labor and resource demands on the respective project schedule, and report variances and risks.
  • Evaluate and adjust data regarding cost status, resource requirements, commitment data and productivity variance reports.
  • Develop and prepare monthly program and project progress summary reports.
  • Establish and ensure scheduling and cost control standards are implemented.
  • Interface and maintain liaison with project management, client, and other consultants on all control related activities.
  • Prepare a Resource Management Plan that describes how project resources will be acquired, allocated, monitored, and controlled. A KPI could include the Actual vs. Planned cost of each for proper tracking.
  • Attend meetings with project managers to review and approve baseline schedules and attend regularly scheduled meetings as necessary to stay current on schedules.

What you'll bring to our firm: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience with developing critical path project schedules for major capital transit projects and the ability to monitor schedules for key constraints such as (cost, scope, schedule, risk, resource, etc.).
  • 5+ years of experience using Primavera P6 scheduling software for large to medium projects.
  • 3+ years of construction scheduling experience with contractor.
  • Experience with advanced scheduling principles using Primavera 6 (P6), MS Project or other related system applications is required. 
  • Excellent verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills; Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel.

What we prefer:

  • Credentialed PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) or PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional).

 

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
