What you’ll be challenged to do:
The Market Sector Leader (MSL) is a senior-level strategic and business development role responsible for the overall success and growth of a specific Market Sector within GFT. This individual will be charged with setting vision, driving execution, and achieving short-term and long-term goals in line with the firm’s objectives.
The MSL serves as the primary representative and strategic leader for their Market Sector, accountable for revenue generation, client relationships, market positioning, and overall sector performance. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, sales acumen, leadership, and deep industry insight.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Serve as the face and voice of GFT within your Market Sector, representing the firm at industry events, with key clients, and within internal forums.
Maximize market potential by identifying and acting on opportunities for sustainable growth and innovation.
Design and implement a Market Sector Strategic Plan, with clear milestones and measurable KPIs.
Set and achieve annual and three-year growth targets for:
Sales pipeline
New business wins
Overall revenue and profitability (PWS targets)
Enhance GFT’s industry visibility and thought leadership through speaking engagements, publications, and strategic partnerships.
Actively contribute to the GFT Senior Leadership Team, supporting enterprise-wide initiatives and cross-sector collaboration to drive overall firm growth.
Strategic Leadership & Planning
Own and drive the development of the Market Sector’s strategic vision, positioning GFT as a leader in its space.
Create an annual sector business plan, including goals, budget, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive positioning, and service delivery models to inform strategic decisions.
Sales & Business Development
Lead business development efforts by identifying target clients, cultivating relationships, and overseeing the pursuit of major opportunities.
Direct sales and marketing activities within the sector, ensuring alignment with the firm’s overall goals.
Expand service offerings and identify new revenue streams based on market demand.
Market Strategy & Positioning
Determine where to compete (geographic focus, service lines) and how to compete (differentiation, delivery models, partnerships).
Conduct regular market assessments to refine strategy and ensure relevance and competitiveness.
Provide insights on service mix, emerging trends, and innovation opportunities.
Internal Collaboration & Support
Partner with Regional Vice Presidents to drive sector-specific growth within geographic territories.
Serve as a strategic advisor to Client Service Teams on key pursuits and project approaches.
Facilitate the sharing of best practices and lessons learned across regions and teams.
Performance Management & Leadership
Monitor and evaluate the performance of sector-related Client Service Teams, ensuring delivery excellence and client satisfaction.
Support recruitment, development, and retention of top talent—especially “key hires” critical to the sector’s growth.
Promote a high-performance culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Executive Communication
Provide regular updates to the executive leadership team on sector progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Actively engage with other MSLs, RVPs, and senior leadership to ensure cohesive strategic alignment across the firm.

Salary Range:$175 an hour
