Our Texas team is currently looking for a Construction Compliance Auditor to join our growing team.

 

The Construction Compliance Auditor is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and federally compliant construction documentation, auditing processes, and recordkeeping across active and completed construction projects. This position will lead efforts in digital transformation, documentation standardization, and oversight of contractors and internal records using advanced tools such as Synchro, AASHTOWare Project Construction & Materials (APCM), and SiteManager. The ideal candidate brings over 25 years of deep domain expertise in construction auditing and compliance, particularly within state agencies like the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and is highly skilled in mentoring, cross-functional coordination, and digital construction delivery.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct internal audits and assessments on active and completed construction projects to ensure adherence to state, federal (FHWA), and local compliance requirements.
  • Verify construction records, including pay estimates, change orders, DBE/SBE/EEO compliance documentation, and project closeout materials.
  • Lead or support CCAM reviews and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development for documentation workflows.
  • Oversee lifecycle management of construction records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project teams to maintain accurate and consistent documentation practices
  • Champion innovative solutions that support paperless workflows, visualization tools, and field-to-office integration.
  • Collaborate with TxDOT districts, FHWA representatives, Area Offices, contractors, and divisional stakeholders to ensure unified compliance and documentation standards.
  • Participate in state and federal reviews, evaluations, and reporting activities related to project documentation.
  • Analyze documentation and payment records to ensure consistency with project accounting standards.
  • Track and report compliance trends, training effectiveness, and documentation quality across districts.

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • 20+ years of progressive experience in transportation construction documentation, auditing, and compliance.
 
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Proven expertise in SiteManager, AASHTOWare APCM, and Synchro platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of TxDOT and FHWA construction documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership in digital delivery practices and enterprise-wide system adoption.
  • Strong communication, mentorship, and organizational change management skills.
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $110,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
