This role is critical in delivering high-quality Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services for transportation and public works projects in accordance with client specifications and regulatory standards. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Perform inspection and documentation of roadway and bridge construction activities to verify compliance with contract plans, specifications, and standards.
Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and agency representatives to resolve issues and support successful project delivery.
Conduct and oversee field inspections, density testing, material sampling, and other quality assurance activities.
Maintain accurate daily inspection reports, logs, and photographic documentation using FDOT-approved formats and systems (e.g., MAC).
Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level CEI inspectors, ensuring proper execution of inspection protocols and documentation standards.
Perform or assist with project quantity measurements, pay item tracking, and verification of final estimates.
Participate in project meetings and review contractor submittals, RFIs, and work progress.
Interpret and apply plans, specifications, permits, MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) requirements, and environmental compliance standards.
Identify and report deviations or non-conforming work; recommend corrective actions as needed.
Work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator or CEI Project Engineer.
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Technical degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum 4 years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection.
Experience with FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) projects is highly preferred.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with electronic documentation systems such as SiteManager and MAC.

CTQP Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I
CTQP Asphalt Roadway Levels I and II
CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Levels I and II
CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (within 6 months of hire)
FDOT Intermediate MOT
Nuclear Radiation Safety
IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I (within 6 months of hire)
Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification
PCC Paving Inspection
Diamond Grinding and Grooving, Curing, Sawing, and Joint Sealing
Experience with density testing and materials acceptance tracking.
Knowledge of FDOT specifications, standards, and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage time effectively across multiple inspection tasks and priorities.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills for managing junior inspectors.

Salary Range:$56,000 - $80,000
Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location
