Staff Engineer, Water/Wastewater for GFT Infrastructure, Inc to work at our Raleigh, NC loc. May telecommute up to 3 days per week. Perform system design work including prep of contract drawings + specs for water supply sources, water + wastewater pumping stations, water + wastewater treatment facilities, water storage facilities, wastewater collection + conveyance systems, waster transmission + distribution systems, + general municipal engineering assignments. Provide general oversight, control, + management of design-related activities for projects. Determine client requirements + develop specs, drawings, instructions + related docs. Work w/ client + other disciplines to prep plans + execute design activities as dictated by the SOW. Review vendor drawings + evaluate need for design changes + make project recommendations. Consult w/ construction personnel on concerning field conditions, sequencing + scheduling. Ensure production drawings + specs meet scope, schedule, cost + quality requirements + meets fed, state, + local requirements. Little travel to client locations in adjacent states may be involved but will not exceed 60 days/yr and 5 days/trip. May undergo background checks incl drug screen and MV record check.
Must have Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field and 4 years exp designing Wastewater and Water facilities. Also requires the following skills (4 yrs exp) in: Transportation design incl grading, storm drain systems, culverts, open channel flow, storm water management, and erosion and sediment control; Design Software; automated and engineering design equipment; GIS; MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
