What you’ll be challenged to do:

The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 3 years of progressive design experience in roadway engineering design for highway, interchange, and/or urban roadway design services to public clients.  Experience should consist of the development of roadway design plan production work well in a team environment. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day execution of assigned projects. 

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Development of horizontal and vertical geometry, preparation of plan and profile sheets, typical sections, roadway cross sections, maintenance of traffic plans, coordinating with other disciplines
  • Calculating quantities and developing construction cost estimates
  • Review of shop drawings
  • Participating in project meetings with clients
  • Coordination with team members to meet project quality standards and milestone deadlines
  • Representing GFT at industry and professional events.

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of roadway engineering required.
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Knowledge of and experience using MicroStation and Microsoft Office is required
  • Knowledge of and experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, InRoads, GeoPak, and/or ProjectWise is highly desired
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills along with strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
