GFT is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Transportation team in Canada! This role follows a hybrid or remote work model. 

 

Working with the Transporation team at GFT means shaping the future of transportation, delivering projects that improve mobility, safety, and accessibility for millions of passengers nationwide. 

 

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As a Project Coordinator, you will need to have dynamic communication skills and the ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively. You must be able to organize projects and materials, in addition to having strong business, computer and writing skills. In this position, you will assist our project managers with the execution of tasks related to projects and daily administration and project controls functions.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

 

  • Provide project management assistance and project controls support throughout the life-cycle of a project from proposal through to project closeout.
  • Ensures projects adhere to contract language and requirements; issues and tracks project amendment documentation and coordinates for review.
  • Monitors project financials including variance, revenue, budgets, and WIP; responsible for proactive follow up on revenue variance issues and revenue recovery; participates in resolving issues.
  • Facilitate communication across teams and external stakeholders.
  • Interface with project accounting to open and close projects.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the project budget structure.
  • Track project budgets, costs, and forecasts, and identify variances.
  • Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and KPIs for internal and client reporting.
  • Review contract requirements for contract fee types, invoicing procedures, insurance requirements, customer survey submission, and subcontractor information.
  • Support project managers in management of the change process. 

Education | Experience:

 

What you will bring to our firm: 

 

  • BS Degree required. 
  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Accountant or Project Coordinator/Controls required
  • Experience with project KPIs and financials required
  • Advanced level skills in Excel required
  • Strong financial/general accounting experience, business math experience
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

  • Experience working in a similar capacity within the AEC industry highly preferred
  • Ability to mentor peers in skills, knowledge, and abilities in project controls to maintain best practices and consistency.
