GFT is seeking a Transportation Management Center (TMC) Project Manager to join to lead operations for the FDOT District 7 Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) in Tampa, FL. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring two days per week on-site. 

 

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As a TMC Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to contribute to critical transportation management services that directly impact safety and mobility in the Tampa Bay region. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all contract activities at the RTMC.
  • Develop and manage staffing plans, schedules, and performance metrics to meet FDOT requirements.
  • Oversee project budgets, invoicing, and financial tracking to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Coordinate with FDOT staff, subcontractors, and regional partners to maintain effective collaboration.
  • Lead weekly and quarterly meetings with FDOT and stakeholders to review performance and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with FDOT SOPs, safety protocols, and emergency management plans.
  • Champion innovation through AI, dashboards, and process improvements.
  • Maintain high standards for documentation, reporting, and quality assurance.
  • Support emergency response and ensure continuity of operations during major events and hurricanes.

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Candidates must meet one of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM field, with 3+ years in project management and 5+ years in TMC operations; or
    • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years in TMC management and 5+ years in transportation operations; or
    • 5+ years in TMC management and 10+ years total in a transportation operations center.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Availability to be on-call and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
 
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Experience with innovative tools and platforms (e.g., ESRI, Power BI) is a plus.
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $140,000 - $152,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
 

Signing Bonus: $5,000, six months after Notice to Proceed and favorable performance.
