GFT is seeking a Senior Systems Safety Engineer to join our Practice or CBG Team in Toronto! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Toronto office.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
Under limited supervision, the successful candidate will proactively lead tasks and leverage innovation in solving complex technical challenges in the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of commuter, light, and heavy rail transit systems. The sucessful candidate will deliver innovative, technical work to schedule and plan, while achieving time, quality, and cost targets, as part of our multi-discipline teams or on behalf of our clients in project teams. The successful candidate will take on and lead a broad range of systems engineering activities and plan work packages using project management methods.
The successful candidate must have a strong technical capability in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety analysis methods, and excellent communication skills with the ability to perform a variety of RAMS-related activities for the rail transportation industry.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
15+ years of experience working in Safety applied to Rail Systems
Experience executing system safety activities in urban rail projects.
Proven ability to work successfully in multi-disciplinary teams and across different business units.
Team player, able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Experience in a project environment with good customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with CSA R114:22.
Experience working with MIL-882.
