GFT is seeking a Sr. Project Transportation Planner to support a variety of projects in the West Region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Seattle office.

What you'll be challenged to do:

GFT is looking for a Sr. Project Transportation Planner to support transportation and transit program management oversight work, providing direct support to clients on the management and delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to understand the application of planning and project management principles, client management, be detail-oriented and organized, support administrative processes, and navigate technical subject matter related to transportation and/or environmental programs and projects. This position will report to our Seattle, WA, Office but may work on projects nationwide. The ideal candidate is open to flexible work hours for both West and East Coast assignments.  

 

A candidate for this position should have strong listening and communication skills and the ability to write materials that relay a clear message. Additionally, we are seeking someone eager to learn, a team player, and someone who desires to grow in their career. The primary types of projects the candidate will be assigned include transportation and transit planning and programming, state programs for special transportation categories, and leading tasks or projects involving transportation planning and environmental studies and/or pursuits.

What you'll be challenged to do:

  • Manage projects and tasks, and direct staff, including managing budgets for tasks, schedules, and workloads.
  • Support and lead client engagement activities, including leading and supporting pursuits. 
  • Conduct research and prepare documentation, ensuring quality, timeliness, and considering budget. Be responsible for managing and delivering final deliverables, including presentations.
  • Works as part of the team to drive local and national strategy for transportation planning, including delivering projects and programs. 
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies. 

What you bring to our firm:

  • Master’s Degree in Planning or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience 
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting. 
  • Knowledge of M365 and Adobe products
  • Strong background in transit capital and operations planning

Compensation:

The Salary range for this position is $127,000-$153,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
