GFT is seeking a Senior or Principal Project Manager – Bridge Technical Lead to join our Transportation Team in Southeast/Central Texas. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at either our Houston or Austin, TX location.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

GFT’s Texas Transportation Team is looking for an experienced bridge professional to provide innovative leadership, project management, superior client facing skills and the ability to communicate and work across multiple operational groups and technical disciplines in Central and Southeast Texas. Successful candidates will deliver best-in-class technical solutions to our clients in the design, inspection, delivery and management of projects across both public and private sectors. The PM may coordinate and manage multiple practices in multiple offices to deliver the overall scopes of service for projects of regional and national significance.  Additionally, this position will market and develop business in accordance with the goals of the business plan of the corporation.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Securing, planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of medium to large scale multi-discipline bridge projects with a high degree of technical complexity, involving a diverse project staff.
  • Reinforcing and continuing to establish strategic market position/service offerings for the group to align with client needs and GFT’s strategic initiatives.
  • Oversight of activities related to Bridge Design, Bridge Rehabilitation and NBIS Bridge Inspection.
  • Serving as a Senior or Principal Project Manager and Bridge Technical Advisor on Project Pursuits.
  • Mentoring and Leading Junior Engineers.
  • Pursuing new work and completion of RFPs as needed.
  • Develop and maintain industry relationships to form project teaming relationships
  • Negotiate teaming relationships with joint venture and/or subconsultants, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Overseeing budget, schedules, quality control, and risk management to ensure successful delivery on time and within budget for complex bridge projects.

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus, Masters preferred 
  • 15+ years of bridge related design experience
  • Project/Team Management is preferred
  • Professional Engineer license in Texas is REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated success in managing preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, adhering to project budgets, project scheduling, and subcontractor management 
  • Strong familiarity with TXDOT Market standards is required
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication both written and verbal skills 
  • Track record of successfully completing projects and team leadership 
  • Solid client relationships and willingness to help lead bid, proposal and presentation efforts  
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $205,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
