GFT is looking for an Entry Level Noise Analyst to join our Noise and Vibration Group in the Mechanicsburg, PA office. This position requires onsite office attendance 3 days per week.

What you will be challenged to do:

The Entry Level Noise Analyst will be responsible for supporting traffic noise analysis in transportation planning projects, including conducting fieldwork for noise measurements. They will assist in creating base drawings using survey data and CAD software, gathering and organizing project data, and performing various data processing and quality review tasks. The role also includes helping with public engagement activities, preparing presentation materials, and completing assignments under the guidance of senior staff.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Traffic noise analysis as it pertains to transportation planning projects.
  • Creating base drawings using survey information and CAD program(s).
  • Conducting noise measurement field work as part of the team.
  • Assisting with data gathering and development of project requirements.
  • Performing a variety of data analysis/processing functions, including analytical data quality reviews, data extraction/loading/transformation, and data organization and cleanup.
  • Completing tasks assigned by the project lead and under the supervision of a senior level scientist/planner.
  • Assisting with a wide range of public engagement activities and meetings
  • Developing project and presentation graphics.

What you’ll bring to our firm:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science or GIS-related fields OR related associate’s and equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of related experience in transportation noise or environmental science.
  • Proficient in MicroStation or CAD.
  • Working experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • A passion for working with teammates and customers to solve problems.
  • Dynamic, personable, and self-motivated personality with the ability to work as part of a distributed team as well as independently on assigned tasks.

 

What we prefer you bring:

  • TNM2.5 Training Certification.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Desktop, 3D Analyst, ArcGIS Pro and/or Python.
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
