GFT is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Government Affairs Team Mechanicsburg PA! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance in the office.

 

What you’ll be challenged to do:

As an Administrative Assistant you will provide critical administrative, organizational, and logistical support to the Government Affairs Officer. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations, assists with legislative and regulatory tracking, coordinates communications and supports advocacy initiatives that advance the organization’s public policy goals.

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Provide administrative support to the Government Affairs Officer and team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, preparing correspondence, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Assist with the preparation of briefing materials, presentations, and reports for internal leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Track legislative and regulatory developments; help maintain databases, monitoring tools, and files related to government relations activities.
  • Coordinate logistics for advocacy events, legislative meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Support drafting and distribution of communications, including newsletters, memos, and talking points.
  • Maintain records of interactions with government officials and stakeholders to ensure compliance with lobbying and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries directed to the Government Affairs team.
  • Provide general office management tasks such as invoice processing, expense tracking, and document organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective functioning of the Government Affairs function.

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • High School Diploma required
  • 3+ years of administrative or office support experience; prior exposure to government affairs, public policy, or legal environments
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism when working with sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with legislative tracking software a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members.
 
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Communications, or related field considered a plus.
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $75,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
