GFT is seeking an Organizational Manager – Renewables Engineering to join our Power Delivery Practice!

What you’ll be challenged to do: 

In this role, you will need to be a motivated leader with a positive attitude to serve renewable clients, build and lead diverse design teams, and drive quality production and prompt project delivery. At a high level, this role will require someone with a track record of effective leadership and exceptional communication skills, capable of mentoring project teams, fostering collaboration with an inclusive approach to leadership. 

The Organizational Manager is expected to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple Groups and Teams within a defined business unit or area. This role ensures alignment of project execution with organizational goals, drives cross-functional collaboration, and leads business development initiatives to support growth and profitability. The Organizational Manager is responsible for resource planning, financial performance, client relationship management, and quality assurance across all assigned Groups. This position serves as a key liaison between Business Unit leadership and project delivery teams, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans. 

 
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

Team Leadership & Development 

  • Supervise and lead staff of technical professionals and other technical specialists ensuring consistent execution of projects and services. 
  • May manage multiple groups and their respective leaders 
  • Mentor and develop staff within the team to support growth objectives. 
  • Recruit and onboard new talent to expand group capabilities. 
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. 
  • Align team skills and resources with anticipated client needs. 
  • Align organizational goals with project delivery strategies, resource allocation, and client expectations. 
  • May act in the capacity of Project Manager, Client Manager or Proposal Manager 

Project Delivery 

  • Oversee execution of active projects and ensure deliverables meet client expectations. 
  • Participate in the development of project design concepts and criteria and researches large or complex project elements  
  • Interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating large or complex project assignments 
  • Act as technical specialist in the development of multiple discipline proposals  
  • Provide QA/QC reviews  
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and resource plans to ensure profitability. 
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects. 
  • Implement program controls, reporting systems, and governance structures. 
  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability. 

Team Growth & Business Development 

  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities within the program. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client executives, program directors, and key stakeholders. 
  • Develop proposals, statements of qualifications, and RFP responses to expand consulting engagements. 
  • Track industry trends, regulatory changes, and funding opportunities to anticipate client needs. 
  • Create strategic plans for program expansion (new service offerings, regions, and/or technologies). 
  • Represent the firm at conferences, trade associations, and industry events. 
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as backlog growth, utilization rates, and client satisfaction. 

Client & Stakeholder Management 

  • Serve as point of contact for clients, resolving issues and ensuring alignment. 
  • Contribute to workshops, stakeholder meetings, and strategic planning sessions with clients. 
  • Deliver presentations and program status updates. 
  • Provide thought leadership on client challenges. 

Financial & Strategic Oversight 

  • Manage Organization performance including NLM, revenue factor, labor revenue, DSO including timely invoice submission, WIP, AR, and staff utilization. 
  • Forecast pipeline growth and develop investment strategies for long-term expansion. 
  • Create growth plans and regularly report progress to leadership.  

What you will bring to our firm:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, science, or related field 
  • Master’s degree in engineering, architecture, science, or related field is preferred 
  • Professional licensure and/or registration or appropriate certifications and ability to obtain in multiple jurisdictions 
  • 10+ years of applicable experience including project management experience 
  • Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)  
  • Familiarity with software such as BlueBeam Revu and AutoCAD  
  • Specialized experience in advanced software applications desirable (e.g. accounting/project management, scheduling, modeling, finite element analyses) 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to lead client presentations  
  • Organized individual with a positive team building spirit with a collaborative one team attitude.  
  • Member of a professional practice organization with a leading role in national committee or program preferred 
  • Advance level knowledge of industry practices, standards and codes 
  • Prior supervision of staff  
  • Project Management experience (PMP) and/or advanced technical certification (D.GE, LEG), preferred 

Compensation:  

The salary range for this role is $200,000- $225,000 (USD). Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
