GFT is seeking a Sr. Project Designer, Highway to join our Practice or CBG Team in Dallas, TX! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Fort Worth and Dallas, TX officeS.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
Job duties include designing intersection traffic signals, roadway lighting and intersection improvement concepts. Duties will also include completing traffic engineering studies, including but not limited to, intersection vehicle capacity analysis, traffic signal warrant studies, traffic signal coordination studies, traffic impact studies and roadway safety analysis 

 

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 

  • Complete engineering studies related to vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycle traffic. 
  • Preparing reports, meeting minutes, preparing concept drawings, field observations and attending project meetings.  
  • Preparing engineering plans, material specifications and estimate of probable construction cost. 
  • Quality check project deliverables. 
  • Coordinate with and support team members. 
  • Meet with clients to discuss project finds and recommendations. 

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or engineering technology, or a related field. 
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience. 
  • Proficiency in PTV Vissim and Vistro, Synchro, Highway Capacity software modeling. 
  • Proficiency in MicroStation ORD software suite 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite practices.  
 
What we prefer you bring: 
  • Knowledge of railroad industry regulations related to highway railroad crossings. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. 
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $145,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
