GFT is Seeking an entry-level Bridge Inspector for work in the Charleston Area. Candidate shall be familiar with the SCDOT Bridge and general Bridge terminology.  Looking for a technical individual, who team oriented with strong communication skills. Individuals must be willing to travel and work outside.

  • Field Inspection and preparation.
  • Willingness to work at heights
  • Willingness to work at night
  • Organize and enter inspector’s notes into the Bridge Management System (BMS).
  • Prepare reports for submission.
  • Individuals will be required to take and convert measurements
  • Willingness to take and pass NHI 130055 Safety Inspection In-Service Bridges, after 5 years of experience.
  • Other duties may be assigned, but not limited to:
    • Create folders for different districts.
    • Keep track of inspection files for different projects.
    • Communication with sub-consultants on related tasks.
    • Basic office duties.
    • Maintaining file folder for different inspection project.

What you will bring to our firm: 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum (Basic knowledge of computers and typing).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).

What we prefer you bring: 
  • 5 years of documentable bridge inspection experience
  • NHI certification in the Inspection of Fracture Critical Bridges
  • Knowledge of Adobe, Paint.net, Print Station, Better jpeg, and Google Maps.
  • Knowledge of SCDOT BIO, Project Wise, Blue Beam, and Google Earth.
 
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $25 to $29 per hour.  Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
