GFT is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer, Traffic to join our Transportation Team in Chicago, IL! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of these office locations.

What you’ll be challenged to do:
The successful candidate will become part of a unique team of traffic engineers and will work on various Phase 1 and Phase 2 traffic related tasks for complex roadway projects. This role combines knowledge in traffic operations, traffic safety, signal systems, lighting systems, and ITS. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other disciplines to deliver innovative, high-quality transportation solutions for state DOTs, counties, municipalities, and private agencies.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Leads the development of project design concepts and criteria and researches large or complex project elements.
Responsible for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating large or complex engineering assignments.
Acts as technical specialist in the development of proposals.
May develop basic to moderate scopes of work and cost estimates independently.
Provides management of Roadway personnel for a project.
Provides QA/QC reviews.
May supervise a staff of engineers and other technical specialists.
Responsible for working closely with clients for development of technically sound solutions and client satisfaction.
Responsible to work on multiple concurrent assignments and time management.
Responsible for executing the project scope of work and managing the technical development of the work and maintaining the budget and schedule.
Responsible for obtaining the permits necessary to complete the project and to provide interaction with the permitting agencies.
Other duties as assigned.
