Responsibilities

In the Gannett Fleming family of companies, Gannett Fleming Project Development Corp (GFPDC) is the Design-Build, EPC Contractor leading the complete project delivery to our various clients.

 


Our Raleigh, NC offices are seeking a highly-motivated Project Estimator for pharmaceutical and industrial manufacturing projects of various types and sizes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantity take offs
  • Costing of material and labor as well as production factors
  • Prepare Invitations to Bid
  • Detail and define Scopes of Work
  • Coordinate and attend project walk thru’ s and pre-bid meetings
  • Estimating of Engineer, Procure and Construction (EPC), Lump Sum, and Turn-Key projects
  • Participate in pre-construction
  • Participate in procurement and expediting
  • Scheduling and Budgeting participation
  • Develop conceptual budgets
  • Bid and proposal preparation
  • Bid leveling and comparisons
  • Constructability reviews
  • Work with project staff and management
  • Change and cost control and management
  • Day to day field coordination of multiple estimates and proposals
  • Interaction and coordination with clients’s representative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline preferred; commensurate experience in construction projects including experience in estimating, planning, management, coordination and scheduling, and design-build work will be considered. 
  • 5 - 10+ years of life science and/or pharmaceutical estimating for construction management, design/build, general contracting and owner’s representative experience.
  • Significant experience working on the construction of pharmaceutical and industrial projects, design-build projects, Engineer, Procure and Construct (EPC) and owner’s representative projects is required.
  • P.E. license is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Experienced with cGMP spaces, construction phasing and organization of building components.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Experience working to regulatory standards: FDA, Good Engineering Practice (GEP), Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Strong Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems as well as Divisions 2 - 16.
  • Preferred understanding of pharmaceutical clean utilities/systems including: WFI, USP, CIP, clean steam, clean dry air, and other high purity process systems.
  • Preferred understanding of clean room ISO classification and general knowledge around systems to meet these classifications.
  • Working knowledge of local contractor and sub-contractors ideal but not required.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data.
  • Organizational skills, oral & written communication and a positive team attitude.
  • Knowledge using estimating software packages and excel, as well as all Microsoft Office and Project software.
