What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is looking for mid to Senior Civil/Structural Inspectors to coordinate and oversee rail and transit construction projects in the Bay Area. Primary responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Performing on-site compliance inspection, progress monitoring, and payment application review at various construction project sites for conformance to specifications and local codes;
  • Serving as liaison between the Contractor and Construction Management team
  • Documenting construction is completed in accordance with contract plans, specifications and shop drawings, reviews material lists and permit requirements;
  • Represent client/CM team on-site providing quality assurance oversight, documentation of field activities, cost control and time management related services;
  • Performing final inspection, prepares punch lists, and determines all items on the punch list are completed or corrected by the contractor;
  • Maintain and review comprehensive project records, progress schedules, work orders and monthly payment estimates;
  • Tracking submittals and requests for information. Maintains project correspondence;
  • Participating in Progress and Preconstruction Meetings;
  • Completing daily report(s) referencing contractors activities that may include; track access time and contractor equipment movements/storage, labor and equipment quantities, force labor work, impacts to railroad property and the riding public;  

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure construction inspection, preferably in transportation/rail and transit
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite
  • NICET Level I and CWI Certification Strongly preferred
  • Flexible schedule will be required
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
