Responsibilities

Our Civil/Highway Engineering Practice is looking for an Highway Engineer to join our Pittsburgh, PA office. Come join our team!

 

Responsibilities:

 

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with experienced transportation project managers and engineers responsible for providing design services for a wide variety of projects, including roadway and intersection improvements, drainage and grading improvements, transit facilities, highways and interchanges.

 

Under close supervision, you will perform the following duties:

  • Engineering analysis and design/checking design calculations
  • Perform/checking drainage design
  • Technical report writing
  • Preparation of drawings using Microstation software
  • Preparation of project modelling using InRoads
  • Checking of drawings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to become registered in 6-12 months
  • Minimum 4 years of related highway design experience
  • Strong technical design background in at least one of the following areas: highway design, maintenance of traffic plan preparation, traffic control, and ITS engineering 
  • A focus or coursework related to roadway, transportation, or drainage preferred
  • Prior engineering related internships or similar experience is preferred; will consider up to 5 years of experience
  • Hands on experience with engineering software such as Microstation/InRoads and/or AutoCAD is desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills required
