    What You Will Do


    Gannett Fleming is looking for a National Transit and Rail Facilities Lead. This position represents a tremendous career opportunity for someone with strong strategic leadership and client management capabilities.  This individual will lead strategic initiatives and key pursuit planning to promote sales growth and revenue for our Transit Facilities business within our Transit and Rail Business Line. The successful candidate will serve as a Project Principal for Transit Facility projects as well as Senior Project Manager for large and complex programs. In addition, the successful candidate will drive innovation; thought leadership; implementation of best practices, quality and consistency; and professional development of technical staff for technical delivery of planning, design, and construction phase services of transit and rail projects. Given the national focus of this role, there is flexibility on the location to include New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Los Angeles or San Francisco.


    Successful candidates will have 15 plus years of experience in Transit Facilities with a strong background in planning, design and/or construction of passenger facilities and rail and bus maintenance facilities.  The successful candidate will have experience and a proven track record of winning and managing large scale rail & transit facilities projects, providing oversight and direction to multi-disciplined teams and strengthening market share by meeting or exceeding client expectations.  Additionally, this leadership role requires strong industry knowledge and network including client and industry partner relationships. 


    The National Transit and Rail Facilities Lead provides strategic plan and delivery on key client and program success; has broad program management impact; prepares and delivers presentations on behalf and in support of the client’s program; serves as the single point of contact to the client and acts as a liaison between management and clients on advanced program-related issues; interacts with executive level government or public officials and/or executive level clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations and assesses and manages risk on behalf of the client.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    • Work with the Transit and Rail Business Line, Area and Regional Managers on development of strategic marketing plans and execution of significant project pursuits
    • Formulate and execute project opportunity capture strategies, including teaming and positioning for specific pursuits
    • Establish and expand relationships with both external clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members
    • Work with area and regional business development leaders to identify upcoming transit pursuits in the US transit market
    • Manage a Transit & Rail facilities staff with diverse capabilities to efficiently deliver projects and meet client requirements.
    • Identify technical capability and required staff resources and hire additional staff to win and effectively deliver projects and support growth.
    • Coordinate with other business lines within Gannett Fleming to apply our expertise to our clients’ problems and cross sell all of our capabilities to Transit & Rail clients.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline
    • Registered as Professional Engineer or Registered Architect
    • 15 + years of project management experience including multidisciplinary team management
    • Proven track record with client management, and pursuit planning and execution
    • Track record of exceptional client service and program delivery
    • Familiarity with local and federal funding and project development requirements
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
