    What You Will Do

     

    Our Fairfax Office is looking for a Project Structural Engineer to join our practice. Successful candidates will lead the structural design of transportation related facilities, single- and multi-story buildings, as well as industrial facilities.  Work includes steel, concrete, and masonry design, and overseeing the development of structural drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software.  Knowledge of structural programs such as RAM Structural Systems, STAADPro and RISA 3D is required.

     

    • Lead the structural design, drawing development and preparation of specs
    • Collaborate and communicate effectively with various disciplines.
    • Coordinate structural design with project requirements.
    • Review structural shop drawings and respond to contractor inquiries
    • Assist Project Managers in development of fee proposals.

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    • 8 to 10 years of relevant full-time work experience.
    • Bachelors Degree from an ABET accredited institution in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis is required.
    • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
    • PE license required.
    • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD
    • Hands on experience with structural analysis and design software (i.e. RAM, STAAD, RISA3D, TEDDS)
    • Post-tensioned design experience preferred
    • Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license
    • Be capable of field inspection activity such as climbing ladders, using man lifts.
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
