    What You Will Do

     

    Gannett Fleming is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Raleigh, NC office! Successful candidates will possess demonstrated experience in the coordination of project execution and control to deliver contract documents within scope, budget and time schedule from initial start-up through final design. Demonstrate strong technical knowledge in structural engineering design and detailing, as well as have a good understanding of highway, traffic and geotechnical engineering. Desired candidate will be experienced with the North Carolina Department of Transportation design policies, standards, and specifications and have proven project experience as a lead bridge/structures engineer. 

     

    The candidate will serve as a project manager and project engineer for small and large, multidisciplinary projects.  Responsible for monitoring work for compliance with applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices, ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned tasks between all disciplines, provide technical guidance to project members and will serve as a technical liaison with client on project effort.  

     

    Position requires strong structural design background, effective time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Responsibility for managing/overseeing scopes, schedules and budgets for projects performed with the bridge group and daily successful operation of all aspects of project delivery including customer interface.

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, Masters Preferred
    • Professional Engineer (PE) required.
    • Must possess 8-15 years of professional experience in the analysis and design of concrete and structural steel bridges and related structures. Must possess strong leadership and communications skills
    • 3-5 years of functioning as a technical lead or project manager leading bridge design group, capable of leading teams in the pursuit and execution of infrastructure projects.
    • NCDOT experience preferred
    • Candidate should be well versed in the use of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
    • Knowledge in the use of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word programs for business applications.
    • Experience in writing/development of project proposals and letters of interest.
