    What You Will Do

     

    IETC is looking for an Electrical Test Technician to join our team in York PA. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of computers and digital software used in the testing industry. Responsible for developing electrical test plans and procedures.  Coordinating with clients, utility companies, co-workers and other trades to complete testing projects.  Performing on-site testing of electrical power distribution equipment including transformers, switchgear, medium voltage cables, relays, circuit breakers.  Responding to service calls on a regular basis, some of which occur after hours. 

     

    Responsible for managing projects in the range of $5,000 to $175,000 in cost and include both private and public - sector work.  Developing test reports to be reviewed by management.  Identifying and coordinating hazardous situations to prevent potential injuries.  Assisting with project management related to scheduling, planning and coordinating as needed.  In addition to assisting with developing quotes for clients.

    Minimum Qualifications

     

    • Four-year degree in construction, engineering or related degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years electrical testing experience in the field.
    • Possess an understanding of NASI/NETA testing standards
    • Experience performing electrical testing including – medium voltage cables, medium voltage switchgear, transformers, relays, switchboards, circuit breakers, fused switches.
    • Coordinate with project managers to develop estimates and provide competitive edge on bidding projects.
    • NETA or NICET Certification is a plus
    • Relevant field experience as an electrician is a plus.
    • Open to training and gaining new certifications
    • Have an understanding of relay testing, particularly digital relays (i.e. SEL).
    • Possess an understanding of Doble Power Factor Testing including utilizing the software
    • Willingness to work weekends and holidays on occasion (for electrical shutdowns)
    • Willingness to be on-call for emergency calls 24/7.  This task rotates between the test technicians.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license
    • Submit to and pass a drug test pre-hire

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be willing to work in both outdoor and indoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust, moving objects, sharp edges, electrical hazards and all types of weather.
    • Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking for periods of time. In addition, occasionally climbing stairs/ladders, bending, stretching, reaching, crouching.
    • Lifting and/or exerting of force up to 50 pounds (occasionally)
