    What You Will Do

    Our firm’s Water Business Line, currently comprised of nearly 130 professionals, evaluates and optimizes the ability of all types and sizes of water, wastewater and stormwater facilities in order for our clients to successfully satisfy state and U.S. EPA regulations. Current technologies are utilized to achieve innovative and practical designs. Many of our projects have won state and national awards, and the volume of our water/wastewater work ranks us among the top 20 U.S. engineering firms by ENR. Additionally, our professionals serve a multitude of local, state, national, and international organizations as active community participants.

    Our Woodbury, NY office located in Nassau County has an excellent career opportunity for a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in our Water Business Line.  We offer a full range of engineering consulting services including: planning, design, permitting, construction management, operations, regulatory compliance and utility management for water and wastewater utilities and municipalities.

    Successful candidates will use their technical abilities to assist our Project Managers with services to Municipal and Private Clients that meet their engineering needs, while working in a dynamic team setting.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Participate in the planning, design and construction administration of water, wastewater and municipal infrastructure facilities/projects
    • Conduct site visits, surveys and inspections, and assist with data collection, compilation and assessment for utility infrastructure projects
    • Prepare reports
    • Develop design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
    • Analyze processes based on field investigations, drawings and specifications, and perform calculations
    • Review and prepare federal, state, and local permit applications
    • Perform construction observation and field engineering services

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering
    • 2-5 years' experience, preferably in a consulting engineering environment in water and wastewater discipline, particularly utility design work including collection, conveyance, treatment plant, tank and pump station design
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
    • Experience working with Municipal clients
    • Experience in planning, design, permitting and construction administration of infrastructure improvements        
    • Physically able to perform work in the field
    • Detail oriented team player possessing strong planning and organizational skills
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Building Information Modeling/Revit
    • EIT in the State of New York is required
    • Construction observation experience
