    What You Will Do


    Ranked as #8 US Top Design Firms for Mass Transit and Rail, Gannett Fleming has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our outstanding Transit Facilities team within the Transit and Rail Business Line in Los Angeles. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical load calculations, conduit fill calculations, wire/panel/equipment sizing and selection, equipment control diagrams, equipment block diagrams, and connection diagrams.

    This individual will also be responsible to prepare electrical system calculations, electrical system technical analyses, electrical system contract design drawings, and detailed specifications of electrical designs/installations for buildings, structures, passenger stations, maintenance yards and shops, and other transit and rail facilities.

    Other responsibilities will include:

    • Perform site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical systems.
    • Collaborate with and provide support during construction activities to other engineering disciplines as needed.
    • Lead and participate in meetings with clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility service representatives and project teams.

    Minimum Qualifications


    • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering required, Masters Degree a plus.
    • Professional Engineer License (PE) is preferred.
    • 3-7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering and design for facilities projects.
    • previous transit experience is strongly preferred
    • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards and energy codes.
    • Experience with special systems including fire alarm, security, communication and control systems.
    • Experienced with facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, and construction activity support.
    • Demonstrated track record of successfully working with public sector clients.
