    What You Will Do

     

    Lead Civil Design Engineer shall be registered as a P.Eng. in the Province of Ontario, with at least 15 years of experience, and approximately 10 years of experience as Lead Engineer in transit infrastructure, underground running structure, municipal/rural roads design, the design of traffic protection, surveying, site restoration, storm water management and alignment design.

     

    Responsible for all civil engineering issues including:

    • Responsibility for suitability of all civil engineering concepts;
    • Responsibility for all civil design;
    • Signs and seals drawings related to civil design;
    • Attends meetings with TTC as required

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
    • Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) license in the Province of Ontario is required
    • 10 years of experience in transit/transportation planning, operation and engineering
    • Experienced in track, station and civil design on large scale transit/transportation projects
    • Solid and in-depth understanding of design processes and operations modeling
    • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
    • Proficient in site grading, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, private utilities and drainage design
    • Proficient in street improvement design and public works design
    • Experience in site development
    • Experience leading design teams and mentoring junior engineers
    • Managing large and complex projects for transit and freight rail clients
    • Preparing proposals for new work
    • Business development / developing leads aiding in winning new work
    • Preparing, monitoring and forecasting budgets/costs and project schedules
    • Building project teams and managing project staffing
    • Preparing and monitoring scopes of work and methodologies
    • Chairing frequent meetings (internal and client)
    • Overseeing quality review process for submittals
    • Non-project management assignments, or non-core work could include some or all of design reviews, scheduling, report writing, presenting

    Preferred Requirements

    • Proficient in Hydrology/Hydraulic design and calculations
    • Experience with transit related projects including facilities
    • Experience in transit facility design
